The Passion of the Christ Crucifix (12" Cross) (Handmade)
This striking crucifix, inspired by The Passion of the Christ film directed by Mel Gibson and starring Jim Caviezel, invites deep meditation on the suffering and sacrifice of our Lord.
Handcrafted with a reclaimed wood cross (12" tall by 6" wide) and a resin corpus cast from an original sculpture, each crucifix is part of the Memento Christi hand-designed collection. Every piece is prayerfully hand-painted with premium paints and finished with extreme attention to detail, ensuring no two are ever exactly alike.
The INRI sign bears all three traditional languages—Hebrew, Greek, and Latin—just as it was placed above Our Lord at Golgotha.
The image depicts Christ in His final moments, crying out in fulfillment of Scripture:
“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” — “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
Every detail draws the heart to prayer: His torn skin, the tightly pressed crown of thorns, one eye swollen shut while the other lifts toward the heavens in longing for the Father’s consolation.
This crucifix is especially suited for those who wish to meditate on the Passion of Christ and enter more deeply into the mystery of His sacrificial love. It makes a powerful devotional piece for the home, chapel, or as a unique gift for someone seeking to unite their own sufferings with Christ’s.
Each cross is made from reclaimed hardwood over 100 years old, giving every piece its own story, character, and enduring strength.
Cross size:
12” x 6”
Note: Because our crosses are crafted from reclaimed and repurposed wood, variations in wood species, grain, texture, and overall appearance are to be expected. Each piece may include both natural and man-made characteristics—such as knots, grain variations, nail holes, markings, wear, blemishes, or even remnants of the wood’s former use. These features are not considered imperfections; rather, we believe they tell the story of the material’s past and contribute to the unique character, authenticity, and individuality of every cross.
Current lead time: 3-5 weeks due to order volume. Updated Weekly.
