The Requiem Crucifix
The Requiem Crucifix is a labor of devotion and craftsmanship, designed to bring reverence, beauty, and prayer into your home.
The corpus of Christ was originally sculpted by hand in clay, then 3D scanned and resin printed to faithfully preserve the handmade detail and expressiveness of the original work. Each figure is prayerfully hand-painted, capturing the solemn moment when Christ, having submitted His spirit to the Father, bows His head in death. His head hangs low, His arms are stretched tightly upon the cross, His body marked with wounds that invite deep contemplation. In addition to His pierced hands and feet, He bears wounds from His capture, where He was bound. His beard has been plucked, just as the Scriptures foretold. The crown of thorns is not a simple wreath but rendered as a cruel helmet of thorns covering His sacred head, emphasizing the agony of His suffering.
Above Him rests the INRI sign, sculpted with striking realism. As in the Gospel account, the inscription is written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin — proclaiming Christ’s Kingship to all peoples and nations.
The figure is mounted on a cross made from reclaimedwood. Each piece of wood is carefully selected and lovingly prepared to carry this sacred image. This choice of material carries deep theological meaning: in Christian thought, all created things are ordered toward their highest purpose — to glorify God. By reclaiming wood that once served an ordinary and passing role, and transforming it into the form of the Cross, it is given a new life and a second chance to fulfill its noblest purpose: bearing the image of the Crucified Lord.
